Catteries can be very different, so I will give you some details about us. We are small, having only two breeding females and a few pets in our home. This allows us to give our kittens lots of individual attention. We simply do not have the time to care for a large cattery, so we intend to keep that part of our lives relatively small. I won’t say our cats are never caged. That isn’t reasonable. They need to be separate while they are still in a nesting box, and then caged during a short potty-training period. They are usually free after that though.
we have four children, and they certainly make sure the cats get lots of socialization. Our cats get used to handling quite early and they get lots of it. We treat each of them as one of the family and are sad when they leave us, but we are glad to know they will be blessing another person’s life when they go.
We have two different girls from different lines breeding. Gem is giving us nice CFA kittens in the four CFA recognized colors. Maia, a lilac tortie girl, is giving us lovely creams, lilacs, lilac torties, reds, chocolates, and chocolate torties and is registered in TICA. We breed both girls toward a round, American-type standard.
