Declawing is never something I recommend. Burmese are usually fairly easy to train. But you must understand you do have to TRAIN them. This is not something that just comes naturally. You can also trim your cat's claws, similar to clipping dog claws to keep them from being as sharp. Declawing is a rather cruel procedure and I would only use it in extreme circumstances. Oh, and something to remember, a declawed cat uses other things to defend himself. In other words, a declawed cat often bites. Choose your poison wisely.
