These pics are from Luzzee’s kidding on 7/22/11. My goal here was to document some of the stages so others might know better what to look for.
In this first pic Luzzee is standing normally, however I have just put her in the kidding stall. I noticed her out in the run having some contractions, so I brought her in. I had been watching closely because her ligaments had been so soft yesterday with a small amount of white discharge ion the evening, and this morning they were gone completely. I knew it was just about time.

Here she is having a contractions. Notice more curve to the back and the dip at the tailhead.

She lies down to begin to push and before long a bubble appears.

And gets bigger. I can’t see anything in this bubble and start to get worried about the position of the kid. Usually you see two feet and a nose in the bubble. Turns out there was a second part of the bubble coming behind this one. The right parts were in there and the kid presented correctly, but I didn’t get a pic because my hands were busy getting towels and such ready.

Just a couple more pushes, a few yells, and It’s a boy! Luzzee gets busy cleaning him up. I dip the cord and help with cleanup chores. I find her tongue works loads better than my paper towels for this job though. God made them efficient at their job!

Just a couple minutes later Luzzee backs away from cleaning, gives a few pushes and out plops #2. It’s a Girl! Second and thirds always seem to be easier than the first baby.

After getting mostly cleaned up the kids are busy about the business of learning to walk and finding their food source. It is always amazing to me how quickly they do these things. I wait with them until I have seen both latch on at least once. They are ready for naps, and I am ready for a shower, it is HOT out here!
